Shane Traylor

     United States Coast Guard Licensed Charter Captain Shane Traylor has spent a lifetime on the water honing his passion for fishing.  Born and raised in Alabama, he is dedicated to providing a memorable experience for anglers of all skill levels.  Whether you want to catch your very first fish or you want to chase the fish of a lifetime, Captain Shane is committed to making sure you have every opportunity to experience the fantastic year-round  fishery available here on the Alabama Gulf Coast.

     There are many species of fish that inhabit this area  and even more successful techniques used to catch them. Captain Shane specializes in speckled trout, red fish and flounder found in the numerous shallow water rivers, bays and bayous that surround Alabama's 60 miles of coastline and over 600 miles of tidal shoreline.

Rates and Trip Information

Rates

Standard Trips - up to 3 people

  • Half Day - $600
    ​​

  • Full Day - $900

 

*Additional anglers may be allowed per captain's approval for an additional $100 ea.

All tackle, bait, ice, water and fish cleaning is included

Please Note:  Bona Fide Inshore Charters teams up with other local guides from all over Mobile Bay and can accommodate groups of all sizes with additional boats and guides as needed.

Species We Catch

We mainly target speckled trout, red fish, sheepshead and flounder, However, we may also encounter large jack crevalle, black drum and triple tail and many other species.

We Provide

Standard trips include fishing license, ice, water, fuel and tackle.

You Need to Bring

Sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat and weather appropriate clothing are necessities.  Any snacks or drinks other than water may also be a good idea, and please do not forget your camera. 

I ask you do not use spray sunscreen on the boat,

The Boat

We currently run a 2014 Skeeter SX240 bay boat equipped with a 300 hp Yamaha four-stroke outboard with Garmin Sonar/GPS and a Minn Kota Terova iPilot trolling motor.  These boats are some of the most versatile bay boats on the market and offer tons of storage along with an extremely comfortable ride.  We are able to effectively target fish anywhere in our bay system including the shallow bays and rivers as well as near shore adventures.  

Where We Launch

The Mobile Bay fishery is diverse and ever changing so we try to be as flexible and accomodating as possible.  We launch from many locations including but not limited to:

  • Daphne

  • Fairhope

  • Point Clear (Grand Hotel pick-up)

  • Mobile Bay Causeway

  • Fowl River

  • Dog River

  • Dauphin Island

  • Bayou LaBatre
